The Board of Selectmen discharged this committee on September 3, 2015 with the thanks of a grateful community.
Milfoil is a problem affecting all of Lake Winnipesaukee and many of the other water bodies in the region. Plant fragments, which can cause a new infestation, are easily transported between jurisdictions on water crafts and by the simple flow of water. In the spring of 2010 it was recognized that a combined effort on the part of several towns might prove the most effective way of dealing with this aquatic nuisance. While each Town maintains a local committee, the three towns of Moultonborough, Tuftonboro and Wolfeboro have entered into an Intermunicipal Agreement to do just that. These individuals try to ensure strategies are coordinated to the extent practicable.
This agreement is managed by a Joint Board comprised of two representatives from each Town. They act in accordance with an agreement approved by the Office of the Attorney General. You may click here to see that Agreement.
