Certified Tax Collector Susette M. Remson Announces Her Retirement

Susette M. Remson, Certified Tax Collector for the Town of Moultonborough, NH has announced that she will not run for re-election.

Susette was first hired as the Deputy Tax Collector in May 1997 and elected as Tax Collector in March 1998.  She indicated that since taking her oath of office she has made many changes in the office procedures some due to the many changes in the laws.  Early on in her position she was faced with the implementation of the contentious NH Statewide Property Tax in 1999.  She changed the office hours from part-time to full-time, was involved in two computer program conversions, and was the first in the town’s offices to implement the very popular on-line bill pay and paperless billing feature.  She served as the Vice Chairperson and Secretary of the Municipal Records Committee.  She participated in the NH Tax Collector and Town Clerk’s Certification program earning the title of Certified Tax Collector.  In addition, Susette has been active in the NH Tax Collector’s Association by serving as Co-Coordinator for Carroll County for many years and assisted with the preparation of the NHTCA’s Recommended Policy and Procedures Manual.  Susette also serves as the Auditor for the Moultonborough Women’s Club.

Susette has indicated she will truly miss the daily interaction with taxpayers and is thankful for all the support she has received from everyone over the years. Select Board Chairman Joel Mudgett stated, “the Board members and I want to express our sincere appreciation for Susette’s twenty-two years of dedicated service to the Town of Moultonborough and wish her all the best in her retirement!”
