Dog licenses are due annually by April 30th and can now be completed for 2025. Avoid late fees and fines by renewing your dog license(s) now!
If your dog has received a rabies vaccine within the past year, please send their current rabies certificate. We cannot process a license unless we have a valid rabies certificate on file.
If your dog was licensed with us last year, but passed away or has had a change of address/ownership, please contact us so we can update our system.
You may obtain your dog license one of four ways:
1. In person: The Town Clerk’s office is open 7:30 am – 4 pm, Monday – Friday.
2. Online: Click here or visit MoultonboroughNH.gov and look for “Online Bill Pay” then “Online Town Clerk Payments” and follow the prompts. We will process the transaction and mail you the new tag.
3. By mail: Send the proper fee (below), a note with the dog’s name and your phone number, and a self-addressed stamped return envelope to:

4. Through the secure payment drop box: Inside an envelope marked “Town Clerk,” place the proper fee (below), a note with the dog’s name and your phone number, and a self-addressed stamped return envelope. Leave this in the secure drop box outside to the left of Town Hall’s front door. We will mail the new tag to you.
PRICING: The fee is $7.50 for a spayed/neutered dog, $10 for an unaltered dog, and $3.00 for the first dog registered to an owner over 65 years (additional dogs owned by senior citizens are the regular fee). Group rates are available for households with five or more dogs.
We can accept checks made out to Town of Moultonborough, cash, or credit cards if paying in person or online. There is a 3% processing fee added by your credit card company for all card transactions.

Per state law, a civil forfeiture fine of $25 will be issued for each dog that remains unlicensed, plus a $1 per month late penalty. Please call (603) 476-2347 or email TownClerk@MoultonboroughNH.gov with any questions.
